Employment Type: Full-time (minimum 30 hours/per week), Permanent role

You pay: $29.66-$30.00 per hour depending on your skills

 

King-Kong Garage Door Limited is an Auckland-based company.

 

We are now looking for 2 fitters to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right people and will allow access to a reputable and experienced company. The position is responsible for the following duties: layout, fit, and assemble fabricated metal components into metal products, such as structural steel framework and parts, using various machine equipment and metal fitting techniques.

 

Tasks you may carry out:

·       Assess drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembling, disassembling, and fitting operations

·       Layout, position, and secure metal parts and assemble according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, callipers, and ruler

·       Repair or replace worn or broken door parts using hand tools

·       Check fabricated parts to ensure precision and remove rough spots from workpiece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper

·       Install hardware or other interior fixtures by fabricating parts or components

·       Constructing structural components from raw materials

·       Fit fabricated parts into structural steel framework and parts using measuring and fitting equipment

·       Assemble fabricated parts to produce tools, machines and other equipment

·       Conduct diagnostic testing and replace damaged or defective structural components as needed

·       Clean the work area before and after work 

 

To be successful you will need:

 

  • Have at least relevant experience of 2 years in the same industry/field, or have a relevant level 4 qualification
  • Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions
  • Be physically fit and willingness to work outdoors
  • Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically
  • Can work with safety mind
  • A "can-do" attitude, and work efficiently as a team player
