Position: Carpenter

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The position is responsible for the following:

Constructs, erects, shapes, fits, installs, renovates, and repairs wood structures, fittings and fixtures in construction builds and interior design projects.

Tasks Include:

• Read and understand specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans

• Prepare project work procedure and determine dimensions and materials required

• Plan the order and selection of timbers and other materials, and prepare layouts

• Shape and cut materials to specified measurements, using hand or power tools

• Assemble and nail prepared parts to form framework or structures for constructing buildings or internal fittings

• Erect roof and window framing, build internal walls and partitions, make staircases and layout sub-flooring/floorboards

• Build and install stairways, doors and window boards and fascia panels，exterior wall cladding

• Verify trueness of structure

• Interior lining and finish

• Remove and repair existing fittings, conduct renovation and maintenance service for the wood structures

• Construct and assemble concrete formwork

• Ensure workmanship and observe health and safety regulations

• To able to work with plastic laminates and metal materials when required

• Any other duties the employer may reasonably require the employee to perform

Pay rate: $28 - $35 / hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week:  Minimum 30 hours, permanent full-time

Requirements for the job:

·         You should have at least 3 years of relevant work experience

·         Be physically fit and healthy

·         Full time availability, may work on the weekends

·         No criminal record

·         Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident
