Metal Works Ltd is an established company based in South Auckland providing onsite welding and general engineering services. We cover all general engineering from repairs and maintenance to new builds for light and heavy fabrication.


We are looking for an experienced fitter welder fabricator who has a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team, who can take pride in what they do and deliver high quality services to all of our customers.


Location: Waiuku, Auckland
Employment: Permanent Full Time
Salary Range: $30-$33 per hour
Hours: 35-40 hours per week with occasional weekends and after hours as required.


Duties and Tasks
- Follow direct instructions.
- Understand and Follow Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Understand and interpret engineering drawings.
- Welding Repairs.
- Weld Mig and Stick.
- Carbon Arc Gouging.
- Lancing.
- Thermal Cutting.
- Operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment.
- Heavy Lifting.


Our ideal applicant will be able to offer the following:
- Minimum 5 years of heavy fabrication and welding experience.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and materials.
- Ability to understand & interpret engineering drawings.
- Mathematical competency and ability to understand dimensions.
- Have strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyse and resolve welding related
problems.
- Ability to produce quality workmanship for our loyal customers.
- Follow instructions and procedures and adhere to Health and Safety Policies.
- Ability to work independently.
- Physically fit and active.
