Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week  

The main objective of this position is the operation, optimisation, training and maintenance of the extrusion assets of the Corma, Beier and similar extruders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor continuous flow of extrusion operations. Follow company established methods, policies, rules, practices and procedures and optimise these polices for continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for all necessary quality checks, inspections and reacts accordingly
  • Pre-start readiness, daily production reports, operator checks, QC checks, and other necessary production paperwork to be completed on time and correctly 100% of the time.
  • Plant drives efforts to achieve production efficiency, downtime reduction, drive out losses, and schedule adherence goals.
  • Provide ongoing communication and feedback on quality issues to ensure the required level of quality is achieved
  • Completing all tests, presentations, and other required evaluations

Key Requirements 

  • Minimum 3 years’ previous extrusion experience in a manufacturing environment
  • In depth knowledge of extruders, (electrical /drivers / processors / screw and Barrel checks / optimisation)
  • Knowledge of computer control systems within the extrusion process
  • Technical aptitude, solutions and results driven, attention to detail and quality focused.
  • Searches for opportunities to improve services and quality to stakeholders and reduce costs.
  • Communicate effectively with the wider team and operate in a respectful and supportive manner.

You must:

  • Have at least 2 contactable references
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screen test
  • Return a clear or satisfactory police report

Eight permanent vacancies are based at our Whanganui Factory with a minimum of 40 hours per week. This position provides a competitive remuneration package with a wage range of $26 - $28 per hour, and health insurance.
