About the role

Position Summary:
- Title: Vehicle Painter
- Wage: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
- Location: Penrose, Auckland
- Employment Type: Permanent – Full-time
- Hours of Work: 45 hours per week (30 hours guaranteed), from Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm. An employee may be required to work on weekend and up to 52 hours per week.
Tasks include:
· Performing surface preparation by removing rough spots, sanding surfaces by hand or power tools
· Masking areas not to be painted using tape and paper to protect vehicle parts
· Matching and mixing paints to required colours or using pre-mixed paints
· Applying primer, base, and finishing coats using spray guns
· Touching up paintwork and applying final polish to vehicles
· Painting signs, logos, or artwork on vehicles when required
· Treating surfaces with rust-proofing or corrosion-resistant chemicals
· Ensuring all painting/refinishing works are completed with efficiency, accuracy and high quality in accordance with company standards
· Document all work performed on with appropriate logs and notes
· Keeping the workshop area clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety procedures
· Using appropriate safety gear and operating all tools and equipment responsibly and reporting any safety issues immediately
· Reporting any damage to vehicles, equipment, or premises promptly
· Cleaning up contaminant spills immediately using appropriate materials
· Fulfilling other duties as reasonably directed by management
To be successful in this position, our ideal candidate will have:
· Relevant qualification (Level 4 qualification in Automotive Refinishing or above); or at least three years of relevant experience
· Must have a full clean New Zealand driver’s licence
· Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays (as may be required)
· Professional approach.
· Ability to work individually and as a team.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
· Reliable, punctual and hardworking
