Our company is moving into its busy period, and we are looking for Plasterboard Fixers and Stoppers who will work on our residential and commercial projects in the Canterbury region.

This is a full-time position. Wages are between $30 to $35 per hour (depending on experience), with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week.

Job Description:

  •  Review build plans to determine the materials and dimensions required.
  •  Analyze drawings and specifications to assess proper layouts and determine the best
     Practice installation procedures.
  •  Measure and mark cutting lines on the required materials.
  •  Cutting materials, fixing and quality check.
  •  Install plasterboard on timber and metal frames used in building construction and   repair.
  •  Fixing the plasterboard using the correct method.
  •  Apply stopping materials using the proper method.
  •  Finish the surfaces of woodworks and /or wallboards. 
  •  Ensure safe usage of all hand tools, power tools and equipment
  •  Remove offcuts and clean the work area at the end of each workday.
  •  Work efficiently with team mates to achieve a goal and meet a deadline.
  •  Get along with work mates, maintaining a healthy and friendly work relationship on
     the jobsite.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must have at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
