Position Summary:
2 x Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the two liquor store in Paeroa during their shifts based on the roasters. They ensure compliance with New Zealand’s Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act, maintain high levels of customer service, manage staff, and handle any incidents that may arise in a professional and lawful manner.

Location: Waikato Region
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise two store operations and ensure smooth daily running of both the stores

Enforce all licensing laws and regulations, including ID checks and refusal of service when required

Maintain a safe, welcoming, and responsible environment for customers and staff

Open and close the store as per roster, including cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation

Manage and support staff during shift, including delegating tasks and providing guidance

Respond to customer inquiries and resolve complaints effectively

Monitor stock levels, assist in re-stocking and merchandising

Handle any incidents (intoxicated persons, theft, conflict) in accordance with store policy and legal obligations

Complete required documentation, incident reports, and ensure duty manager certificate is clearly displayed during shift
Requirements:

A current and valid Manager’s Certificate

Level 2 Qualification or one year experience

Good knowledge of NZ alcohol laws and regulations

Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills

Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently

Ability to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as needed

The applicant will be given 30 hours per week

The applicant will be paid $28.65 to $33.65 per hour
