Wicklow farm is located on Gadsby Road. The dairy platform is 360 hectares effective, milking 960 cows through a 50 bale rotary, with ACR and auto teat spray system. We utilise a varied system of twice-a-day and once-a-day milking regimes throughout the season. We are fully OAD for half the season. 

We are looking for someone who is team player and has a positive work ethic. This role is suitable for couples as there is opportunity for the partner to work part or full-time within the team. 

The key tasks include:

·         Ability to run the milking shed, set the shed for milking, retrieve cows and milk the herd, assist with wash down of yard and plant. Ensure milking and washdown are completed efficiently.

·         Assisting in the milking process, ensuring proper sanitation and hygiene practices are followed.

·         Animal health – Helping identify cows with mastitis and lameness. With the guidance of the Farm Manager help with treatments on animals.

·         General farm duties – Assist with day-to-day farm operation duties, setting break fences, spraying weeds, general repairs and maintenance.

·         Future professional growth – The company offers staff the opportunity to learn outside of their core role. This offers staff to develop their skill set for future employment and or internal promotion within their business.

The role is  permanent full time - atleast 40 hours per week. Extra hours will be available too.

A full drivers licence is essential for successful applicants. We operate in a drug-free environment and the employment is conditional on passing a drug test.
