To provide a high level of service and repair to client vehicles, upholding our company's standard of excellence. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receiving customer bookings and allocating booking times that ensure both customer needs and labour resources are considered. 

  • Accurate and efficient diagnosis of mechanical faults, assessing the priority of repairs/ work to be done and completing the repairs within a reasonable timeframe. Seek customer approval before commencing any repairs not already agreed on.  

  • Ordering replacement parts accurately to minimise costs to the business in the form of lost time and freight charges.  

  • Servicing customer vehicles to the highest standard, ensuring all service points are checked, fluid levels correct and preventative repairs/ replacements such as low brake pads, worn tyres etc are recommended.  

  • Check operation of, and perform minor repairs on, electrical and electronic systems. 

  • Ensure job cards are filled out completely in a legible and logical way, and includes all time spent, comments, recommendations, parts, orders and sundries used on the job. It is important to include time taken to prepare and clean up after the job, and to do this as efficiently as possible to minimise the cost to the customer.  

  • Adhere to and fully complete all requirements on manufacturers service checklists.  

  • General cleaning and maintaining of the workshop to ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and workplace hazards are easily identified and eliminated. 

  • Cleaning and maintaining workshop equipment to ensure it remains in good working order. Isolating any faulty equipment and informing management immediately. 

  • Apply the appropriate precautionary measures when servicing and repairing high risk heavy automotive systems 

  • Adhering to all workshop operating procedures and safety procedures as listed in the Employee Handbook. 

  • Travel to breakdowns / roadside assistance when required

    Assist walk- in customers with minor repairs or bookings if necessary.

Qualifications:

At least Level 4 Qualification/Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering or equivalent
1-3 years relevant industry experience in a similar role, and/ or practical MITO experience as minimum.
Knowledgable in New Zealand Automotive Industry standards
Experience using scan tool diagnostic equipment.
Basic computer skills, email and web- based parts ordering.
Clean drivers licence. Heavy class Licence preferred but not essential.
