Our Company Ideal Progress T/A DH Kitchen in Auckland region, we are looking for an experienced New Zealand-qualified carpenter who is ready for their next challenge. A full-time position has become available for an applicant who is keen top bring their skills and excellent work ethic to the role.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years Experience in a Carpentry role
  • Be physically fit
  • Reliable  and trustworthy
  • Be willing to do alteration-type work
  • Hold an NZ Drivers license and have their transport

The Carpenter will need to:

  • Bore holes for insertion of screws or dowels, by hand or using boring machines
  • Cut timber to the right size and shape and trim parts of joints to ensure a snug fit, using hand tools such as planes, chisels, or wood files
  • Dip, brush or spray assembled articles with protective or decorative finishes such as stain, varnish, paint, or lacquer
  • Establish the specifications of articles to be constructed or repaired, and plan the methods and operations for shaping and assembling parts, based on blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or oral or written instructions
  • Install hardware such as hinges, handles, catches and drawer pulls, using hand tools
  • Match materials for colour, grain and texture, giving attention to knots and other features of the wood
  • Measure and mark dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock prior to cutting, following blueprints, to ensure a tight fit and quality products
  • Perform final touch-ups with sandpaper and steel wool
  • Being flexible and proactive
  • Having knowledge about safety regulations
  • Being able to follow instructions
  • Having knowledge about products manufactured in the factory
  • Keep workplace tidy is required

This role is for a minimum of 30 hours a week.
