The Store Manager at Bell Block Supermarket and Post Shop is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring efficient store performance. This role involves strategic planning, customer service, inventory management, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:
  • Implement and improve store procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage purchasing, ordering, and monitoring of incoming goods.
  • Maintain security protocols for cash handling, keys, alarms, and stock.
  • Sales and Marketing:
  • Promote and advertise store goods and services effectively.
  • Formulate pricing policies and oversee merchandising activities.
  • Identify sales promotion opportunities and authorize clearance sales.
  • Inventory and Stock Control:
  • Manage stock levels and make informed decisions on stock control and pricing.
  • Implement stock control systems and track inventory.
  • Customer Service:
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by personally serving customers and providing product advice.
  • Address customer complaints and feedback promptly and effectively.
  • Staff Management:
  • Recruit, select, orient, train, and motivate employees.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and manage disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Schedule staff and ensure operational tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Financial Management:
  • Monitor store expenditures, analyse variances, and take corrective actions.
  • Ensure financial responsibilities are met, including budget adherence and revenue goals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Retail Manager or in a similar role, showing strong leadership and management skills, OR a Level 5 Diploma in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse sales figures and forecast future trends.
  • Knowledge of retail software systems is advantageous.
