Xinyang Construction Limited, based in North Shore, Auckland, provides property maintenance and support for minor construction work as well as handyman services.
Working locations can vary but will be within the greater Auckland region. This is a permanent full-time role. You must be available to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday with optional weekends, depending on the timeframe of each project.

Duration                      : Permanent (Monday to Sunday rostered hours)

Pay                              : $27 / hour (Min 30 hours & Max 50 hours per week, earning $810 - $1350 weekly)

 

Duties of the roles :

  •  Perform high-quality carpentry work, including framing, roofing, siding, installing flooring, cladding, and interior finishes
  •  Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient work
  •  Collaborate closely with the construction team to coordinate tasks and ensure project timelines are met
  • Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices



Requisite Competencies:

  • Three years relevant work experience
  • A positive attitude and good communication as well as interpersonal skills
  • A clean slate record and be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Physical fitness, hardworking and with attention-to-detail
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Own set of tools and sound knowledge of safely using hand and power tools
  • Demonstrate competency in carpentry (qualification would be an advantage)
  • The right to work in New Zealand
  • Reliable transport



Desirable qualities:

  • Communicating with clients to determine the time frames for completing projects.
  • Performing all assigned carpentry duties, including both rough and finish carpentry.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Secure all necessary materials and tools for meeting production objectives.
  • Liaise with co-workers and directors to conform to building code and specifications.
  • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time
