Overview
A Multi-Skilled Repair Technician is responsible for performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks across different domains, including shoe repair, key cutting, engraving, watch repair, and sharpening tools. This role requires a combination of technical skills, customer service, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Shoe Repair

Repair and restore various types of footwear, including:

Replacing soles and heels

Stitching and patching leather or synthetic materials

Advise customers on repair options and care recommendations.
Key Cutting

Cut keys accurately using mechanical or electronic key-cutting machines for:

Domestic use

Automotive applications

Security purposes
Engraving
- Engrave text and images on a variety of surfaces, including:
- Metal
- Glass
- Plastic
- Utilise manual or computer-aided engraving tools.
Watch Repair
- Perform basic watch repairs, including:
- Battery replacement
- Strap adjustments
- Minor mechanical repairs
Tool Sharpening
- Sharpen knives, scissors, garden tools, and other blades using:
- Grinding equipment
- Honing equipment
Additional Duties

Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Manage inventory of materials, parts, and consumables.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop area.

Handle transactions and process payments if working in a retail context.
Requirement

A minimum of 6 months full-time (or 12 months part-time) relevant work experience.

A Level 4 qualification in a related field may substitute for the required work experience.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

Pay rate ranges from $25 to $30 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Wages are paid weekly.

Holiday pay and sick leave will be provided according to New Zealand employment law.

The role is based in Auckland.

You will work 5 to 6 days per week on a rostered schedule, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week (up to a maximum of 48 hours).
