Here at Go Cold Refrigeration Services Ltd we are currently recruiting for 2 x qualified Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to join our team on a full-time basis, specialising in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) systems.
Tasks & Responsibilities

Install HVACR systems across a variety of environments, including commercial, residential, industrial, and marine settings.

Install and service rooftop HVACR equipment.

Conduct routine maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) systems.

Maintain and repair chilled water systems, refrigeration storage units, ventilation equipment, and air conditioning systems.

Diagnose faults and perform troubleshooting, repair, and installation work on HVACR systems and related equipment.

Test electrical circuits and identify faults using appropriate diagnostic tools.

Visit client sites to assess system requirements and provide technical recommendations.

Prepare work sites, equipment, and tools to support efficient installation and service work.

Install condensate pumps, drainage lines, pressure piping, and associated fittings.

Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance activities for HVACR equipment.

Use job management software (ServiceM8) for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.

Participate in after-hours and weekend work as required.

Travel for out-of-town jobs may be required on occasion.
Skills & Competencies Required
-
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heat pumps and ducted air conditioning systems.

Strong understanding of HVACR system components and operation across various environments.

Valid Site Safe certification.

Meets the ANZSCO Skill Level 3 (342111) classification.

Proficient in refrigerant handling and adherence to relevant safety standards.

Physically capable of lifting and positioning heavy equipment and performing manual labour for extended periods (8–10 hours/day).

Ability to follow instructions, manage competing priorities, and work effectively under pressure.

Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test due to the safety-sensitive nature of the role.

A full, clean driver’s licence is required. Must be able to drive manual.

A clear New Zealand police background check will be required due to the nature of work involving access to private and commercial properties.

Minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed.
