Le Dream Cafe Limited currently look for a hardworking and reliable baker to join us. We have two locations: Alenna Cafe in Takanini and Cafe Avion in Mangere. You will be assigned to work at Cafe Avion in Mangere and can be required to cover the shift at Alenna Cafe in Takanini from time to time when there is staff shortage. 

Working hours is from 30 to 40 hours per week. Pay rate ranges from $28 to $30 per hour. 

Your duties will include:

  1. Check the cleanliness of food preparation area and baking equipment.

  2. Check oven and baking equipment to ensure everything works well.

  3. Check the quality of raw material, weight and measure ingredients. 

  4. Knead, mature, cut, mould, mix and shape dough and pastry goods. 

  5. Prepare fillings, sauces, cream etc.

  6. Monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking time.

  7. Remove baked goods from oven and cool baked goods.

  8. Glaze buns and pastries, decorate baked goods.

  9. Perform any other related duties as required.

Required skills and attributes:

  1. Relevant qualification (level 4 or above) and 1-year relevant work experience, or minimum of 3 years relevant work experience if no qualification.

  2. Able to start at 5am, available to work during weekends and public holidays.

  3. Physically fit for tasks that requires physical strength such as heavy liftings or standing for extended period.

  4. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  5. Have strong multitasking and organizational skills.

  6. Be reliable and punctual.
