Hours Per Week: Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed

Hourly Rate: $26.00 per hour

Job Description:

Olgo Motors Limited, a reputable car dealer in Christchurch, is looking for two skilled Automotive Painters to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and painting vehicle surfaces to a high standard, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare vehicle surfaces by removing old paint, rust, and imperfections using abrasive methods
• Mix and match paint colours to achieve the correct shade and consistency
• Apply primers, topcoats, and protective finishes using spray guns and other equipment
• Mask off areas not to be painted
• Polish and retouch painted surfaces to ensure a quality finish
• Perform quality checks to ensure paint jobs meet customer and industry standards
• Maintain and clean painting equipment and work areas
• Follow health and safety procedures in handling paints and chemicals

Job Pre-requisites:

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in automotive or vehicle painting
• Able to disassemble and assemble vehicle’s parts such as bumpers, doors, bonnets, guards, tailgates, spoilers, wheels and sill cover
• Precision in colour matching and spray painting techniques
• Good knowledge of automotive paint products and materials
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant trade certification (e.g. automotive refinishing) preferred but not essential
• Commitment to health and safety compliance
