About Company: 

Maxiom Management Limited is a well-established company specializing in construction consulting and project management. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team and support our finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable

  • Prepare invoices, process payments, and reconcile bank statements

  • Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end reporting

  • Assist with tax filings (GST, PAYE, income tax return) and liaise with external accountants

  • Support payroll processing and employee expense claims

  • Assist with preparing financial reports and forecasted financial reports 

  • Handle general administrative tasks related to finance and accounting

  • Dealing with taxation disputes, such as overdue payment and incorrect tax returns.

  • Liaising with stakeholders, mainly with clients, IRD authorities, and New Zealand Company Registration Office.

Requirements:

  • Master or above qualification in relevant field

  • At least two years proven experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is an advantage

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Employment type: Permanent full time
  • Days required and hours per week: 30 hours per week guaranteed, normally 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday
  • Hourly rate: Between 24-27 per hour depending on work experience
