Painting Worker

Unic Painters Ltd is an Auckland based company. We are now looking for multiple Painting workers to join us. This is a full time role with at least 30 hours per week.

Main responsibility 

Applies paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other surface finishes to protect, maintain, and enhance the appearance of buildings and structures; registration or licensing may be required depending on jurisdiction.

Tasks are

•       Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary 

•       Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.

•       Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc. 

•       Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster) 

•       Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture 

•       Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools 

•       Apply varnish and other finishes 

•       Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions 

•       Any other duties the employer reasonably may require the employee to perform 

The successful candidate must have:

·       At least one year, ideally two or above years of working experience or a formal NZ Level 4  (or equivalent ) qualification

·       Good work attitude and good communication skills

·       Strong motivation

·       Physical fitness and could handle the heavy workload

·       Quality workmanship and eye for detail

·       Strong dedication to health and workplace safety

·       Excellent interpersonal skills to work with other team members.

·       Strong ability to work independently
