We are seeking one customer-focused Telecommunications Assistant join our team on a full-time basis. If you have a strong passion to deal with diverse IT-related issues and assist our valued customers, this could be the perfect opportunity for you in this role. You will be paid $26 -$30 per hour depending on experience. You will work a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 50 hours a week.

You are required to work on weekends and as per roaster shifts. The job will be based in Christchurch, Canterbury region.

You will be responsible for:

-             Assist telecom technicians by preparing work areas and gathering tools and materials.

-              Hold or position equipment and components during installation or repair.

-              Help with cable routing, laying, and securing.

-              Assist in connecting wires and cables to terminals and devices.

-              Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.

-              Perform routine testing and inspection tasks as directed.

-              Set up ladders, scaffolding, barriers, and workstations.

-              Keep the work area clean and dispose of waste properly.

-              Load, unload, carry, and store tools, parts, and materials.

-              Monitor inventory and restock supplies when needed.

-              Follow on-site health and safety procedures, including PPE use.

-              Identify and report hazards or issues to supervisors.

-              Support the installation of telecom hardware and related systems.

-              Maintain basic records of materials used and tasks completed.

-              Load and transport equipment between sites; assist with mobile setups as required.

-              Drive and operate company vehicles to travel between job sites.

-              Collect and deliver materials, equipment, or tools from suppliers or warehouses.

-              Ensure safe transport of crew and gear to and from work locations.

-              Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to road safety laws and company policies.

-              Conduct regular vehicle checks and report maintenance issues.

-              Occasionally assist in navigating routes or coordinating logistics for remote or urban work sites.
