The Position
As a Project Manager, you'll oversee the program delivery of multiple civil infrastructure projects by applying your technical skills, project management experience, and contract administration expertise throughout the design, construction, and maintenance stages. Your role will involve coordinating essential operational activities and resources for managing a complex program of projects.
The Candidate
Accountabilities include:
- Manage multiple infrastructure projects throughout their entire lifecycle, ensuring responsibility for the project's results.
- Apply your technical knowledge, expertise, and leadership to coordinate all relevant activities, ensuring successful project delivery within the specified time, quality, cost, and other targets.
- Develop and manage tenders and estimates to assist the business unit in reaching its organizational objectives.
- Ensure adherence to all operational system procedures to deliver projects to a high and consistent standard for both government and other clients.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, legislative requirements, and operational procedures to deliver projects to a consistently high standard for both government and other clients.
- Plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate the work of project staff to encourage effective teamwork and cultivate a positive attitude towards achieving organizational goals.
- Identify and enlist the required internal and external expertise to meet project needs, including selecting, engaging, and procuring contractors and suppliers.
- Prior working experience in the civil construction industry – urban development, general civil construction, water/ sewer infrastructure, bulk earthworks, bridge and drainage infrastructure, main roads construction and slope stabilisation
- Demonstrated management experience in civil engineering and working on projects with Tier 1 clients.
- Demonstrated ability in developing and maintaining project plans to ensure projects run on time and budget.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills. Confidence in your abilities to communicate with Senior Management and sub-contractors alike whilst ensuring the project is complying with safety standards.
- Proven ability to provide technical advice and implement project plans using your experience and qualifications.
- Previous experience working as a Project Site Engineer on reputable projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as a part of a team.
- Proven experience with performing cost control, forecasting, and reporting
- Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's license or equivalent.
- You may be required to travel to other locations to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
- A Diploma in Project Management
- Degree in Civil Engineering
