Geo Electrics Limited is seeking an excellent candidate to join our team in Auckland. Your background in maintenance, servicing and remedial repairs will be valued in this role with the ability to diagnose and identify remedial works.

Working on a variety of worksites across Auckland as part of our team, your duties will include but not limited to:

  •        Installation Works
  •        Service Works
  •        Maintenance Works

 

As part of this role, you will need to read and interpret drawings and specifications update and create as built drawings to match the work completed and manage paperwork to document your work.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Determining job requirements from drawings and specifications, and establish installation reference points.
  • Drilling holes, installing mounting brackets, and preparing piping by cutting, bending and threading.
  • Installing and repairing components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, gauges, and copper lines for various systems including steam, gas, refrigerant, compressed air, oil, and chilled water.
  • Connecting equipment by bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing pipes, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
  • Filling systems with gas or fluid to test for leaks.
  • Testing and operating refrigeration systems, check mechanisms, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Using vacuum pumps to remove test gas and fluid, and fill systems with refrigerant.
  • Inspecting and overhauling refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults, and repairing or replacing defective components.
  • Adjusting controls and mechanisms, and reassembling systems as needed.
  • Documenting the causes of malfunctions and the corrective actions taken.
  • Marking up plans for as built diagrams to indicate installations completed.

 

Qualification & Experience

  • At least 1 year work experience in installation and maintenance of electrical or telecommunication systems.
  • HVAC and/or Refrigeration trade certificate would be an advantage, although not essential.
  • Electrical knowledge with an Electrical practising License being an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Having a site safe passport or equivalent Health and Safety training is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays if required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills to complete tasks within specified timeframes.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanour when interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • Reference Check from your previous employer(s).
     

Pay and Benefits:

  • Full time permanent employment.
  • Minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed.
  • Pay rates ranges between $28 - $30 per hour.
  • Friendly and supporting working environment.
