Popular Cabinets Limited is currently looking for a motivated and dependable individual for a permanent full time Stonemason position to work at Auckland Region, with minimum 30 hours per week, from Monday to Sunday.

Working in this industry would provide the successful applicant with numerous opportunities for advancement, and we would be delighted to assist those applicants who have a positive attitude, are dependable, and are seeking professional advancement.

On a daily basis, the successful applicant will be working alongside our stonemason team on various construction sites. This includes, but is not limited to:

·      Read and interpret blueprints to decide on dimensions and installation process

·      Determine the materials and equipment needed for the project

·      Cut, shape, and smoothen rock/stone materials using abrasive saw and power grinders

·      Construct and install prefabricated stone carvings/masonry units for buildings and interior fittings

·      Set and verify the vertical and horizontal alignment of structures with the aid of levels and plumb bob

·      Lay and align stones according to set construction plans and specifications

·      Position construction forms or mould along the guidelines of walls

·      Apply and spread mortar on slabs/surfaces using a trowel

·      Clean the surface of marble/stone structures using sponge, brush, water or chemical solution

·      Smooth and polish stones and concrete

·      Replace defective or missing stones on walls and structures

·      Participate with keeping all work environments clean, orderly, and safe

·      Must comply with company quality requirements

Although onsite training will be provided, the successful applicant must have one of the following:

·      A New Zealand Certificate Level 4 and above or equivalent; or

·      2 years relevant work experience in this sector

Our company provides an attractive and competitive income of $28.00 per hour, with the possibility of further negotiation to $34.00 per hour depending on your skills.
