The Position
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the team starting immediately. This role will manage estimating and reporting expectations across the business.
  • Preparation of detailed and accurate estimates for commercial
    landscape and civil projects, ensuring they align with project
    requirements and budgets.
  • Conduct thorough quantity take-offs from tender documents to
    develop Bills of Quantities using Excel and Cubit, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare and manage trade packages, including soliciting,
    comparing, and analysing quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
    to identify the most cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop tender schedules tailored to each project’s specifications,
    including site management plans, traffic management plans, and
    construction methodologies, in collaboration with Project Teams.
  • Provide strategic input during the bid submission process to improve
    tender success rates
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with
    contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth
    project execution.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure tenders are prepared
    and submitted accurately and on time.
  • Provide support in project administration tasks, such as obtaining
    supplier quotes, organising documentation, and liaising with
    stakeholders to resolve queries.Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and industry events to continuously build knowledge and professional networks.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal processes
    to improve efficiency and tender success rates


The Candidate 
Key capabilities include:
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with
    contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth
    project execution.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure tenders are prepared
    and submitted accurately and on time.
  • Provide support in project administration tasks, such as obtaining
    supplier quotes, organising documentation, and liaising with
    stakeholders to resolve queries
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and industry events
    to continuously build knowledge and professional networks.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal processes
    to improve efficiency and tender success rates.

Requirements: 
  • Extensive experience interpreting drawings and technical details for
    commercial landscape and civil projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a particular emphasis
    on Excel for preparing complex tender documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to
    prepare compelling presentations and reports.
  • High-level competency in CAD (AutoCAD), Adobe Suite, and 3D
    software such as SketchUp.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify cost-saving
    opportunities and innovative approaches.
  • Familiarity with construction industry standards, codes, and
    regulations.
The ideal candidate should have experience with the following programs:
  • Cubit
  • Expert Estimation
  • Microsoft Project
  • Bluebeam or Adobe PDF
  • AutoCAD or 12D Model (Desirable)
