We are a medium sized Auckland-based construction company and take pride in providing qualified, dependable, and experienced trade services to the construction industry and delivering all commercial and residential projects to the highest quality standard for our clients.

Because of multiple new projects in the pipeline, we are looking to hire 15 full-time carpenters to join our team.

About this role - Carpenter

This role is an ongoing, full-time (minimum 30 hours per week and maximum 40 hour per week) permanent employment, mainly Monday to Friday but with the opportunity to work at the weekends from time to time. The pay rate is $30 per hour.

Reporting to our Site Supervisor, your tasks with include-

  • Constructing, erecting, altering, repairing and installing doors, roofs, windows, furniture, cabinets, frames, scaffold, concrete forms and other items using hand and power tools.
  • Removing walls, installing partitions and steps, altering buildings or room, or adding to existing structures.
  • Installing and finishing drywall, wood panelling, siding and other prefabricated materials.
  • Marks, cuts and shapes materials to prescribed measurements.
  • Studying blueprints, sketches, and work orders to determine materials and equipment required for assigned work.
  • Other tasks as required.

The successful candidate will have-

  • At least two years of recent relevant experience
  • Must have experience in both commercial and residential construction work
  • Have full New Zealand driving license
  • Physically fit
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • At least 2 work references
  • 100% commitment to Health & Safety
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug testing as required
  • The ability to work either unsupervised or in a team environment
  • The ability to undertake work in appropriate timeframes
  • A methodical and organized approach that ensures efficiency and accuracy in their daily work
  • The ability to confidently read, interpret and understand plans and specifications.
