Directional Driller and Locator

We’re looking for two experienced professionals to join our high-performing team in Auckland - one Directional Drill Operator and one Drill Tracker/Labourer. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, and physical work is part of the job — we all get stuck in when needed.

About the Role:

Most of our work is within road reserves, often around existing services, so a strong focus on safety and quality is essential. You’ll be part of a small, tight-knit crew working on a range of directional drilling and civil infrastructure projects.

This role will suit someone who thrives in a project-based environment, has solid field experience, and brings a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Operate or track directional drilling machinery safely and efficiently

• Work collaboratively within a small team on varied drilling and civil tasks

• Perform manual labour duties as required — we’re all hands-on at GroundPro

• Dig safely around live services using appropriate procedures and equipment

• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and site compliance

• Communicate clearly with team members, clients, and supervisors

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in directional drilling (operator or tracker)

• Strong work ethic and willingness to jump in wherever needed

• Proven ability to work safely around services and in road reserves

• Full Class 2 license (required)

• Leadership ability and a positive, team-first attitude

• Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions

• Reliable, drug-free, and able to pass random drug tests

• Excellent communication and organisational skills
