Job description

  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
  • Order, select, and prepare timber, lightweight steel, wallboard, and other materials for construction work.
  • Mark out and cut materials accurately according to measurements and layout plans.
  • Assemble, nail, and shape parts to form substructures, including wall frames, roof trusses, and floor systems.
  • Install exterior cladding, fascia panels, roofing sheathing, and door and window frames.
  • Build and fit wooden joints to ensure structural integrity and alignment.
  • Assemble prefabricated components and fixtures ready for on-site installation.
  • Construct concrete formwork as needed for foundations or other structural elements.
  • Repair or modify existing wooden fittings, structures, or fixtures as required.
  • Work with a variety of materials, including wood, plywood, plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the employer.

  • Job type: Full-time
  • Pay rate: 30.00 – 35.00 New Zealand dollars per hour
  • Days required: Monday to Saturday
  • Hours per week: At least 30

Job Requirement

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience or a relevant New Zealand level 4 qualification or an equivalent overseas qualification is required.
  • A can-do attitude with a focus on problem-solving
  • Consistent in producing accurate and detailed work
