Welder

This is an exciting opportunity to join an iconic vibrant and growing business. NZ Powdercoating Co Ltd has specialised in aluminium and metal powdercoating in NZ for 6 years.

Due to demand, we're looking to add Aluminium Welder to our team. The role requires someone who has experience using a wide range of materials, including the fabrication and use of all sheet metals/aluminiums, preferably having skill level 3 certification in welder or minimum 3 years relevant work experience as required.

To thrive in this position, our successful candidate will have:

Tasks include:

Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements

Selecting, cleaning and preparing aluminium stock

Cutting aluminium/metal sections and shapes using hand tools and aluminium/metal cutting machines

Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments

Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting

Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision

Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filling and bathing in acidic solutions

Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling and grinding
