Service Technician – Packaging & Processing Equipment – Mechanically Qualified

We're looking for a hands-on, customer-focused Service Technician to join the team and help maintain world-class equipment performance and reliability.

 What’s in it for you:

  • Base salary of NZD $80K-$100K per annum depending on your experience (based on a 40-hour week)

What you’ll do:

  • Communicate clearly with clients to recommend the best solutions, support forward planning, and ensure long-term equipment performance

  • Service, repair, and maintain high-end packaging and processing machinery across customer sites nationwide

  • Provide a responsive and professional approach to breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime

  • Deliver installation, commissioning, and operator training to support customer success

  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate service schedules and provide feedback for continuous improvement

  • Assist with rebuilds and major overhauls, both onsite and in the Auckland-based workshop

  • Maintain accurate service documentation and uphold high health & safety standards

  • Support customers remotely where required

 

What we’re looking for

  • Trade qualified Fitter / Maintenance Engineer or similar, with relevant experience in servicing heavy-duty industrial machinery. A Restricted Electrical License or EST qualification is highly desirable. The company can assist you with obtaining your REL if you don’t have this yet.

  • Experience in servicing equipment in food manufacturing or packaging industry a strong advantage

  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, drive systems, servo motors, pneumatics, and industrial automation

  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

  • A self-starter who is flexible, professional, and enjoys working directly with customers

  • Valid NZ driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally (and occasionally overseas)
