Long Develop Construction Limited is specialized in renovations, house developing and improvement. We are looking for four tilers to join our team.

You will be expected to work at different sites throughout the Auckland region, a minimum of 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to perform on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $28-$32 based on the candidates' experience and skills.

Job Description for This Position

  • Examine plans, drawings, and specifications to determine tiling requirements.

  • Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled and lay out work in accordance with design.

  • Prepare wall and floor surfaces by removing existing tiles, adhesive, grout, and cleaning and leveling surfaces as necessary.

  • Fill holes, cracks and apply waterproofing systems to surfaces as required.

  • Spread adhesive onto surfaces and properly position tiles with the correct alignment and spacing.

  • Use hand and machine tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles for edges, corners, and around obstacles such as fittings and pipes.

  • Grout tiles, clean surfaces, and remove excess grout to ensure a polished and professional finish.

  • Lay tiles made of ceramic, porcelain, marble, slate, glass, and other materials.

  • May lay decorative tiles to create mosaics or patterned finishes.

  • May also lay granolithic, terrazzo, cement-based or similar composition flooring.

  • Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and company quality standards.

Key Requirements for Successful Applicants

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience is required

  • Relevant qualification or certificate is an advantage.

  • Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

  • Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.

  • A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress. 

  • Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
