We are looking for 1 PERMANENT full-time (at least 30 hours guaranteed, workdays from Monday to Friday) Assistant Manager to grow with our team. 

Tasks you may carry out:

  • Assist the Manager in developing and implementing operational strategies, overseeing project planning, resource allocation, and execution to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Supervise and coordinate various trades on-site, ensuring efficient workflow, effective task completion, and optimal use of resources while maintaining high performance standards.
  • Ensure strict quality control by implementing and enforcing industry-standard procedures, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any deviations or deficiencies promptly.
  • Maintain and analyze site progress records, tracking equipment usage, material stock levels, and procurement needs to ensure seamless supply chain management.
  • Prepare, review, and issue contracts and invoices, ensuring compliance with legal and financial requirements while maintaining professional relationships with clients and contractors.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams, senior management, and external consultants, providing regular updates and ensuring alignment on project goals and timelines.
  • Oversee company data management, utilizing analytical insights to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of open and effective communication, organizing regular briefings and meetings to ensure all team members are aligned and well-informed on project developments.
  • Maintain close communication with key contractors, continuously monitoring and analyzing market material prices to identify the best suppliers, ensuring cost-effective procurement.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting safety audits, enforcing protocols, and promoting a risk-aware workplace culture to maintain a safe working environment.

To be successful you will need to:

  • Have at least three-year solid relevant experience, or have a relevant NZ bachelor or higher degree in Management or another related field
  • Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions
  • Be physically fit and willingness to work hard
  • Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically and effectively
  • have "can-do" attitude
