Diesel Mechanic – $30–$42 per hour

You’ll be supporting the maintenance and readiness of trucks and specialist machinery—especially those involved in transporting oversize loads—so planning, precision and performance are key.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across a fleet of trucks, trailers, utes, EWPs, forklifts, and mobile cranes
- Perform engine overhauls, scheduled servicing, and general maintenance
- Conduct hydraulic hose and cylinder repairs
- Maintain records including WOFs, COFs, and service logs
- Carry out pre-transport checks to ensure vehicles are road-ready for oversize load delivery
- Assist in on-site repairs when required
- Start early and be ready to plan ahead for the day’s work
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant qualifications in Diesel Mechanics or strong hands-on mechanical experience (Apprentices welcome)
- Full, clean NZ driver’s licence (Class 2+ advantageous)
- Experience with diagnostics, fault finding, and repair work
- Familiarity with lifting methods and working around swinglifts, Hiabs, and telescopic booms (advantageous)
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Commitment to health & safety practices
- A thinker, a doer, and someone who takes pride in their tools and their trade
