​​Job Description

  • assessing areas to be covered, consulting plans, and estimating required quantities of flooring materials
  • preparing surfaces for installation, including removing baseboards and trims as necessary
  • measuring, cutting, and installing underlay materials to prepare for floor coverings
  • laying and fitting various floor coverings such as carpets, linoleum, parquetry, cork tiles, timber, vinyl, resin, concrete, and other resilient materials, ensuring pattern alignment and precise cutting around fixtures and edges
  • securing floor coverings in place and fitting trims around doorways and edges
  • sanding, staining, and applying protective or decorative finishes to timber floors
  • mixing, applying, and finishing resin flooring systems
  • may polish concrete floors to achieve the desired finish
  • may install coverings on walls, ceilings, counters, and benches as required
  • measuring, cutting, installing, and repairing a range of floor coverings including carpet, timber, vinyl, resin, and concrete surfaces
  • performing other reasonable duties as directed by the employer

  • Location: Auckland
  • Job type: Full-time Permanent
  • Pay rate: 25.00- 35.00 New Zealand dollars per hour
  • Days required: Monday to Friday
  • Hours per week: At least 30

Job Requirement

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience, or a relevant NZ level4 qualification, or an equivalent overseas qualification is required.
