We are seeking Bakers with a passion and enthusiasm to produce high – quality baking products. You should have passion for baking and creating organisational and time management skills and ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
This is a full-time position based in Auckland, you will be required to work minimum 30 hours to maximum 45 hours from Monday to Sunday ( Midnight to 6PM), you may be asked to work on public holidays if required.
Job Responsibilities
• Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
• Creating new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.
• Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
• Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget. Order ingredients from suppliers via phone or email.
• Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
• Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
• Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel.
• Maintain a clean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
• Working on the bowl, gathering, weighing, and mixing ingredients; kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing, and shaping dough and baking the bread and finishing the process according to established recipes, ensuring that every product that comes out of the oven are of high quality.
• Follow the procedures for trying new products, seeking approval with management and owner before trying new recipes for trying new recipes.
• Responsible for quality control to ensure consistency by monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance.
• As we are a small tight-knit team you may have to help in other sections within the bakery from time to time. This may include helping the “front of house” when required.
• Adhere to proper baking techniques, temperature control, and cooking times to achieve optimal results.
• Ensuring all baked goods are completed on time.
• Operating baking equipment safely and always ensuring cleanliness.
• Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly workstation through general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned to adhere to standards.

Requirements
• Proven 2 years of experience as Baker or Level 4 trade Certificate or Diploma in Baking
• Great attention to detail and creativity
• Able to work night Shift and stand long hours.
• Organizing and leadership skills
• Willingness to replenish professional knowledge.
• In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition.
• Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
• Clean Character Background
• Should be physically fit, may require to lift 20kg
• Random Drug tests may require time to time.
