As a Diesel Motor Mechanic at JALARAM AUTO LIMITED, you will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and testing diesel engines and other mechanical components of motor vehicles, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines and vehicle systems. 
  • Dismantle, remove, and repair engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other vehicle components as necessary.
  • Maintain, test, and repair diesel motors, including transmissions, suspension, steering, and brakes of trucks and heavy vehicles.
  • Replace worn or defective parts with new or reconditioned parts. 
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune ups.
  • Reassemble engines and mechanical components after repair, ensuring proper performance and functionality.
  • Test and adjust mechanical systems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment to assist in diagnosing complex vehicle systems.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for vehicles.
  • Adhere to workplace safety protocols and ensure all repairs meet industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities. 
  • Assist management in other duties as required.
     

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 02 years’ experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or in a similar role, OR at least a relevant Level 5 qualification.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and computerized systems effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
     

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based at our workshop in Auckland.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet business needs.
  • Work may involve exposure to noise, fumes, and hazardous materials typical of automotive repair environments.
