We are an Auckland-based company and need to recruit a reliable Carpentor with a focus on lock installation to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and adjusting locks and related hardware on doors, windows, and other fittings in residential and commercial properties.

This role requires precision, a strong understanding of carpentry principles, and experience with various locking systems.

Days Required: Need to be available from Monday to Saturday, between 7:30am - 6:30pm
Hours per Week: 30 - 50 hours.
 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, repair, and adjust doors, door frames, locks, and security hardware
2. Modify wood, metal, and composite doors to fit lock and latch hardware
3. Ensure doors and frames are square, plumb, and properly aligned before hardware installation
4. Work closely with locksmiths and security technicians to coordinate installation timelines
5. Read and interpret construction drawings, hardware schedules, and manufacturer installation instructions
6. Measure and mark cutting lines accurately using hand or power tools
7. Perform minor building repairs or maintenance as required
8. Maintain clean and safe work areas and comply with health and safety regulations
9. Any other reasonable task required by the manager

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of 2 years of carpentry experience relating to lock installation
  • Competency in using carpentry tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with a range of lock types (deadbolts, smart locks, mortice locks, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
