Job Description
Position: Nurseryperson
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and tasks are to be assigned by the employer from time to time.
1. Providing regular progress reports to the directorregarding plantation development and anticipate final yield.
2. Assisting the director in formulating and executing effective strategies for planning, soil testing, fertilizerprograms, and overall produce maintenance.
3. Ensuring optimal produce quality and nourishment through attentivecare.
4. Performing tasks such as disinfecting, grouping and packaging produce for storage and shipment.
5. Inspecting plant leaves for signs of insects or diseases and documenting observations
6. Managing water supply for growing tanks
7. Maintaining detailed records ofplants and their growthto facilitate four production seasons per year
8. Ensuing compliance with prescribed occupational health and safety regulations
9. Overseeing fertilizer application and adhering to the scheduled spraying plan.
10. Monitoring adherence to planting and ordering plans.
11. Supervising pesticide application when required.
12. Facilitating procurement of new tools and equipment with owner approval
13. Staying updated on emerging practices, techniques and products.
14. Ensuing proper maintenance, security, cleanliness, and upkeep of all property and assets.
15. Cleaning work areas and maintaina grounds and landscaping
16. Operating relevant machinery, such as tractor powered rotary hoes, for soil preparation prior to planning.
Requirements: 3 years of work experience OR a qualification.
