Dav Transport Limited is a dynamic and growing company specialising in household relocations and commercial deliveries across New Zealand. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Transport Operations Manager to lead and manage our transport and logistics function across our transport divisions.
This senior role is responsible for providing operational leadership to regional Transport Services Managers, overseeing fleet operations, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, safety standards, and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee day-to-day transport operations across different divisions, including fleet scheduling, route optimisation, and logistics coordination
- Supervise and provide strategic direction to regional Transport Services Managers and operational teams

Develop and implement national transport policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and key performance indicators (KPIs)

Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and identify process improvements

Monitor compliance with New Zealand transport regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies

Liaise with clients, logistics providers, and suppliers to ensure service expectations are consistently met

Ensure accurate record keeping of vehicle maintenance, delivery schedules, and transport documentation

Lead risk assessment and contingency planning for transport operations

Report to director on performance, planning, and business continuity strategies
Skills and Experience Required:

Proven experience of atleast 5 years in a senior transport, supply chain, or logistics management role

Excellent leadership, planning, and decision-making abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities

Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills

Sound commercial and financial management capability

Proficient in transport management systems and reporting tools
