Research Accountant

About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled Research Accountant to join a busy finance team located within the medical sector in Grafton working for the next 3-6 months. for a 3–6 months.  You’ll provide vital financial oversight for research and health initiatives, ensuring robust financial management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing accounting support for Research within the organisation
  • Prepare financial statements, forecasts, and funding reports for research and health programmes
  • Analyse project budgets, monitor expenditure, and maintain cost control
  • Ensure compliance with funding agreements, health regulations, and organisational policies
  • Enhance financial processes for efficiency, accuracy, and clarity
  • Take an active involvement in research strategies and policies that impact the accounting and reporting of research trials and results
  • Other adhoc duties as required. 

Ideal Experience & Skills

  • A qualification Accounting or Finance; membership with CAANZ or similar
  • 2 + years in project or research accounting working for large organisations (public sector an advantage)
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and experience with other finance ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and effective communication
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities, and work collaboratively with stakeholders
