Position Available: Canopy Maintenance Worker

Location: Bay of Plenty Region
Payrate: $27 per hour
Minimum Hours of Work Per Week: 30
Maximum Hours of Work Per Week: 40

Key Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience
    or

  • A Level 2 or 3 or above relevant qualification.

  • Comfortable working at height within orchards or vine canopies

  • Physically fit, safety-conscious, and able to work outdoors in varied conditions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Erect, trim, repair, and maintain orchard canopy structures (posts, wires, trellises)

  • Measure, position, and secure structural components to support vine or tree growth

  • Inspect canopy infrastructure and replace damaged elements to uphold safety and integrity

  • Work at height safely, using harnesses and ladders as required

  • Stretch and secure support wires, assemble trellis systems, and prepare for seasonal growth

  • Collaborate with site supervisors and horticulture teams to plan canopy maintenance activities

  • Report on infrastructure condition, incidents, and required repairs

  • Maintain compliance with health and safety protocols and use personal protective equipment at all times
