Busy steel construction company situated in Avondale, Auckland is looking for an experienced steel structure design engineer to join our team.
You will be rostered to work at least 35 hours per week for this busy role, full-time position, immediate start. Hourly rate range of $30-35 depending on trade qualifications and relevant working experience and any other skills you can bring to our business.
Key Responsibilities include:
Completing approval show drawings from architectural and structural drawings
Develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and comprehensive documentation for production
Achieve all design deliverables by their delivery deadline(s)
Create drawings and documentation required to procure, machine, fabricate, and assemble designs.
Other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements for Successful Applicants:
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a designer, particularly in the area of structural steel, weldments and multi-body parts
· A high degree of proficiency to draw 2D representation of structures and 3D modeling of steel structures.
· Strong technical acumen with meticulous attention to detail.
· An in-depth understanding of the processes involved when manufacturing parts from steel (e.g. cutting, pressing, machining, welding, coatings)
· The ability to work to deadlines and track your progress against a schedule
· Experience designing and creating drawings for fabricated components
· Proficient with computer programs/software, such as MicroStation 2D, Autodesk Advanced Steel, Auto CAD, Tekla Structure
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as architectural, NZ Standards, specifications, and procedure manuals.
· Good problem-solving skills and analytical by nature
