We are looking for several experienced carpenters to join our team.
You will be paid an hourly rate of $30.00-$38.00 depending on your experience and skill level. You will be working in Auckland. This role will be a permanent, full-time position and will be guaranteed 30 hours of work per week from Monday to Saturday but can be up to 50 hours
weekly.
Paid weekly, 4 weeks annual leave, Statutory holidays, Sick and bereavement leave. Opportunities to upskill.
Candidates need to be able to start immediately and work lawfully in New Zealand
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
- Take measurements and calculating the size and amount ofmaterial needed
- Cutting, shaping and smoothing lumber and other materials (e.g.plastics or fiberglass) according to measurements
- Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by usingraw materials or pre-constructed items
- Lay out floorings, roofing or drywalls ensuring they are levelledand compatible
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools
- Use levelling, measuring, framing and surveying equipment toensure everything is level and secure
- Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items andinstall them where designated
- Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
- Build scaffolding and other construction structures
- Perform work in accordance with safety best practices
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition
The successful candidate must have:
-At least two years of on-site relevant work experience or level 4 carpentry skills certificate
-Motivated, good work attitude and good communication skills
-Regular and reliable attendance
-Physically fit and able to handle the heavy workload
-Quality workmanship and eye for detail
-Commitment to health and workplace safety
-Able to pass drug and criminal checks if required
