Carpenter

Position: Carpenter

Key Responsibilities:

·         Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and sketches to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation procedures

·         Select appropriate timbers and materials for each project

·         Prepare accurate layouts for carpentry tasks based on project specifications

·         Shape, cut, and modify timber materials to precise measurements using hand and power tools

·         Assemble and secure materials to construct frameworks and structures using nails, screws, dowels, adhesives, and other fastening methods

·         Build wooden or part wooden items that form part of buildings both internal and external

·         Install internal components such as wallboards, floorboards, and commercial ceiling systems

·         Fit and fasten fascia panels, as well as door and window frames

·         Ensure the accuracy, levelness, and plumbness of all structures and installations

·         Perform interior lining, trimming, and finishing work to a high standard

·         Inspect work areas and carry out routine repairs, maintenance, and renovation work as needed

·         Adhere to quality standards and ensure all workmanship meets project requirements and regulations

·         Follow established safety rules and procedures to maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment

·         Collaborate with other trades and contractors on-site to ensure smooth project progression

·         Perform any other duties reasonably required by the employer in support of project and company goals

Pay: Minimum $27.00/ hour   Maximum $30.00 / hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week:  permanent full time, minimum 30 hours  

Requirements for the job:

·         You should have at least 2 years of work experience

·         Be physically fit and healthy

·         Full time availability, may work on the weekends

·         No criminal record

·         Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident
