At Pure Life Foods Limited, We are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our warehouse within the grocery wholesaling industry. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient movement, storage, and dispatch of grocery and perishable goods. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in warehouse and logistics management, exceptional organisational skills, and a commitment to food safety, regulatory compliance, and team leadership.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Operations Oversight
    • Manage daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
    • Ensure adherence to company procedures and industry standards.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain accurate inventory records using WMS or manual systems.
    • Conduct cycle counts and resolve stock discrepancies promptly.
  • Staff Leadership & Scheduling
    • Supervise and mentor warehouse staff, ensuring efficient workflows.
    • Prepare rosters and allocate resources for peak trading periods.
  • Cold Chain & Food Safety Compliance
    • Monitor temperature-controlled storage areas to preserve the integrity of perishable goods.
    • Ensure compliance with HACCP, MPI, and other relevant food safety standards.
  • Health & Safety Management
    • Enforce health and safety protocols in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
    • Conduct risk assessments and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Logistics & Dispatch Coordination
    • Coordinate dispatch schedules and delivery logistics to retail clients.
    • Liaise with transport providers and ensure on-time distribution.
  • Facility & Equipment Maintenance
    • Oversee maintenance of warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
    • Ensure workspaces are clean, organised, and free from hazards.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate documentation including delivery notes, stock reports, and incident logs.
    • Provide regular operational reports to senior management.
  • Security & Risk Management
    • Ensure secure storage and handling of stock, reducing risks of loss or damage.
    • Implement warehouse security measures as needed.
  • Supplier & Client Communication
    • Coordinate with suppliers and customers regarding deliveries, stock issues, and queries.
    • Address concerns and resolve operational bottlenecks promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in warehouse/supply chain management (preferably in grocery/FMCG).

  • Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, MPI regulations).

  • Experience with warehouse equipment.

  • Familiarity with WMS or inventory control systems.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.

  • Understanding of NZ H&S and best practices.
