The Role
The Radiographer will, perform the following duties:
- Develop item specific radiographic inspection specifications.
- Conduct/lead radiographic inspection of EO, identify and interpret defects and assess these against an agreed defect criteria.
- Develop new radiographic inspection processes/facilities (consisting of radiographic system specifications, image acquisition, radiographic equipment, image analysis and facility design and commissioning).
- Calculate and set up safe working boundaries.
- Assist in the development of radiographic data acquisition aspects of experiments and trials design, and assist in developing trials plans and other documentation
- Management of radiographic equipment and facilities as appropriate to maintain and develop capabilities
- Attend other sites to conduct tasks as mentioned above.
- Proficient with Microsoft Applications
The Candidate
Ideally, the practitioner will have demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- Have at least 5 years of experience Radiographic testing utilising x-ray equipment and interpretation of x-ray images to identify components. (Castings desirable).
- Ionising radiation safety procedures, including calculating and setting up of operational boundaries.
- Safe working practices in workshops, laboratories, or processing facilities.
- Preparation of and compliance with safety documentation and process instructions
- Demonstrate use of digital radiography equipment.
