The Role 
The Industrial Machinist will perform the following duties:
  1. Undertake machining on explosive ordnance
  2. Maintaining laboratories and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including calibration
  3. Ensure compliance documentation required for the safe operation of laboratories is in place and current

The Candidate
Ideally, the practitioner will have demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in the following areas:
  1. Excellent knowledge and skills in machining and fabrication of mechanical components including CNC operation and programming as well as manual machinery
  2. Demonstrated ability to interpret CAD models, technical drawings and sketches
  3. Knowledge of and commitment to safe working practices including those relating to use of hazardous materials and operating in workshops or laboratories
  4. Knowledge of working with explosive ordnance is desirable but not essential, training in this area will be provided as required.
Qualification(s): Certificate III in engineering – mechanical trade (desirable)
