Bricklayer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bricklayer to join our growing team based in Hamilton. This is a hands-on role working on both residential and commercial construction projects across the Waikato region. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing and repairing walls, partitions, arches, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and stone.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and specifications.

• Prepare and lay bricks, blocks, and stone in mortar.

• Construct and repair walls, partitions, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures.

• Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment using levels, plumb lines, and straight edges.

• Cut and shape bricks using chisels, hammers, or brick-cutting machines.

• Mix and apply mortar, grout, or other bonding agents.

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and brick-cutting machines.

• Clean surfaces and remove excess mortar.

• Maintain a clean and safe worksite.

• Collaborate with other tradespeople as needed.

• Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials.

• Spreading layers of mortar to serve as a base and binder.

• Shaping and trimming bricks using hand and power tools.

• Repairing and maintaining structures.

To apply:

• Proficiency in laying bricks, blocks, and stone.

• Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.

• Good physical stamina and hand-eye coordination.

• Attention to detail and precision.

• Knowledge of building codes and safety practices.

• Relevant experience

• Relevant NZQA Level 4 qualification or overseas equivalent preferred.

Days required: Rotating roster, including weekends

Hours per week: 30 to 40 hours per week

Hourly Pay: $30 – $40  per hour
