Progressive Meats are looking for staff who are a cut above the rest! We are a leading edge Maintenance Fitter Welder in the sunny Hawke's Bay. 

Full-time permanent Maintenance Fitter Welder is needed for 2025.

Two years previous experience required, just bring your positive, proactive attitude and you will go far. 

Tasks and responsibilities of a Fitter Welder include:

  • On standby maintenance of equipment across Lamb, beef slaughter floors, further processing & coldstore departments
  • Welding and assembly of metal parts for food production machines
  • Servicing of the air, water & steam systems
  • Preventative Maintenance

We currently have an opportunity to for the right candidate in our Engineering team.

Departments run10-hour shifts from 5:45 am until 2:30 am Monday to Friday.

Shift flexibility is required for this role.

This salary is indicative of 50 hour work week, overtime rates will apply.

These roles require:

  • Two years relevant experience
  • MInimum qualifications - NZ Engineering Fabrication (level 4) Certification
  • A genuine Interest in a career in the Primary Industry
  • High level of physical and mental fitness
  • Great attitude and work ethic
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable means of transport
  • Be able to pass a Drug Screen and Pre-employment Medical
  • An ACC Pre-Employment Check Report
  • A NZ Ministry of Justice Check

The pay scale is dependant on experience: $43.63 - $51.53 per hour
