We are looking for A Sri Lankan cook specializes in preparing traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, known for its bold flavors, diverse spices, and regional variations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook traditional Sri Lankan dishes such as rice and curry, hoppers, kottu roti, string hoppers, pittu, pol sambol, lunu miris, and a variety of vegetable, meat, and seafood curries.

Create daily and weekly menus in coordination with the head chef or management team, ensuring a variety of dishes that reflect the Sri Lankan culinary identity.

Select, measure, and combine ingredients accurately and consistently, using traditional spices and methods to produce authentic flavors.

Ensure proper preparation, seasoning, cooking, and presentation of all meals.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, cooking utensils, and workstations as per food safety regulations.

Monitor stock levels of Sri Lankan-specific ingredients and notify management when restocking is required.

Assist with food prep for special functions, events, or buffet setups when needed.

Train and guide junior kitchen staff on proper Sri Lankan cooking techniques and food presentation.

Adapt recipes and dishes for customer preferences, dietary restrictions, or health-conscious modifications without compromising flavor.

Stay current with culinary trends in Sri Lankan cuisine and introduce creative twists or seasonal specials when appropriate.

Additional Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Sri Lankan cook in a professional kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan spices, traditional cooking tools (e.g., miris gala, clay pots), and preparation techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and food quality.
