About the Role:
We are a health supplement manufacturing company seeking experienced Plant Mechanics to join our team. The role involves the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical machinery used in our production process, with a particular focus on:
• Tablet press machines
• Hard capsule filling machines
• Coating machines
• Encapsulation machines
• Modifying and updating PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical faults in manufacturing machinery.
• Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Dismantling and reassembling mechanical components to manufacturer specifications.
• Installing, aligning, and commissioning new machinery and equipment.
• Adjusting, modifying, and programming PLC systems to optimise machine performance.
• Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
• Managing spare parts inventory and assisting in procurement of components.
• Training and mentoring junior maintenance staff when required.
Skills and Experience Required:
• At least three years of relevant work experience in mechanical fitting or plant maintenance; or a relevant trade qualification at NZQF Level 4 (or overseas equivalent).
• Proven ability to work with tablet press, capsule filling, coating, and encapsulation machinery.
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Physical fitness to perform the manual requirements of the role.

Hours of Work: Minimum 30 hours per week
Pay Rate: NZD $30 – $40 per hour (depending on skills and experience)
