The Technical Systems Assessor is a key member of the Technical/Compliance team and is responsible for ensuring our quality control and food safety programs are implemented effectively on site. The Technical Systems Assessor will be responsible for developing and maintaining our compliance, food safety and improvement plans.
The Technical Systems Assessor is a key member of the Technical/Compliance team and is responsible for ensuring our quality control and food safety programs are implemented effectively on site. The Technical Systems Assessor will be responsible for developing and maintaining our compliance, food safety and improvement plans.
This position is primarily based on the dayshift at our Finegand site in Balclutha, Otago , but audits are also carried out on the evening shift so flexibility to complete audits on nightshift is also required.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Completing audits to make sure that our site complies with food safety and product quality standards
- Contribute to quality, compliance, and food safety plan development
- Assist in investigations
- Play a key role in implementing and promoting quality and continuous improvement initiatives
- The role offers a minimum 40 hours per week.
- Location of work: Balclutha, Otago
- Minimum salary $65,000 to a maximum of $75,000.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience as an Internal Auditor and be able to effectively influence and support our people to meet all our requirements across production, food safety, quality, and regulatory frameworks. They will be confident with identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and be confident with setting a high standard of work, driving team engagement and have a high level of attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience
- Internal auditing qualification (8084/85/86 or equivalent)or a minimum of two years work experience in a related or similar role type
- Previous experience within the food industry is desirable; and any meat industry experience would be advantageous
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and application in food systems
- Ability to understand and retain the legal and legislative compliance conditions and issues applicable to the meat industry
- Capacity to analyse and interpret data, draw conclusions, and present information in a clear and concise manner
- Willingness to pitch in and help the team to ensure daily targets are met
- Highly effective communicator with excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
